1. This team is going to take some time to gel

While Oregon might be one of the most talented teams in the country, on paper, it’s going to take some time for the Ducks to truly gel. And people need to understand that.

There’s no need for panic from Duck fans after this lopsided loss even though it was truly embarrassing, but this is probably going to be the worst game Oregon plays all season. The Ducks aren’t going to get worse than this. There’s just too much talent there.

Oregon is a team built on transfers with Quincy Guerrier (Syracuse), Rivaldo Soares (JUCO), De’Vion Harmon (Oklahoma), and Jacob Young (Rutgers) all coming in this offseason. All of those guys were great additions and they’re going to help Oregon compete for yet another Pac-12 title but you have to realize that they’re still only three games into playing together and there are going to be bumps in the road.

This is like when Kentucky brings in top recruiting classes of one-and-done players, it takes time for them to gel together because they’re still trying to figure each other’s styles out. Same situation here with a group of transfers in a new system with new plays.

Be patient, Oregon fans. This one stings, but it’s going to get much better.
