This is an important recruit for multiple reasons. One, Darrius Clemons is from Oregon and it’ll be good for Dan Lanning to keep top recruits home. Two, he’s one of the best receivers in the country and has been high on Oregon for a while. And three, Michigan has been making a serious late run here for him and the Ducks have a serious need for receivers.

In fact, the Ducks have lost two top receiver recruits to decommitment and Mycah Pittman has decided to transfer. Jaylon Redd and Johnny Johnson III will also be gone after this season.

Clemons is ranked the No. 131 overall recruit and 19th-best receiver in the 2022 class, according to the composite. He holds three dozen offers and just visited Michigan last weekend and it looks like Jim Harbaugh and Co. made a huge impression on the Portland, Ore., native.

The Ducks are hoping to keep him close to home because he will be able to play immediately in a young, unproven receiving corps. Oregon needs wideouts and Clemons is at the top of the list.

Make the call, Coach Lanning.
