Oregon football added Bo Nix in the transfer portal on Sunday evening and Twitter had some mixed reactions to the news out of Eugene.

The quarterback room in Eugene just got a whole lot more interesting heading into the 2022 season. On Sunday evening, Bo Nix announced he would be transferring into the Oregon football program after spending three seasons with Auburn.

Nix actually began his career against the Ducks in 2019 and has been up-and-down ever since and now he’s going to be in Eugene at the start of the 2022 campaign.

But there have been mixed reactions to the news because Nix has some of the same qualities as Anthony Brown and that terrifies Oregon fans. He’s the same size, has a strong but sometimes inaccurate arm, he has a similar touchdown-to-interception ratio, and he’s capable of running.

Brown and Nix will draw comparisons all offseason, but the Ducks have to feel good about adding valuable experience, especially since the new quarterback is familiar with new offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham — he was Auburn’s OC back in 2019.

This familiarity might just breed success for the grad transfer and maybe this is what he needs to finally break out as he’s had three different offensive coordinators and two head coaches in three years at Auburn. This could be his breakthrough.

It’s tough to find a ton of positive reactions from Oregon fans about this news because of the fear of potentially losing Thompson, but it’s going to create a good competition in Eugene this offseason.
