2. Troy Franklin breaks out

We are on the verge of the Troy Franklin era in Eugene and that’s mostly due to the departures of Mycah Pittman, Devon Williams, Johnny Johnson III, and Jaylon Redd. The Ducks are going to have a completely new starting receiving corps in 2022 and it’ll be led by Franklin.

Kris Hutson, too, will be a top target for whoever wins the starting job next year, but I think Franklin is my favorite to be the No. 1 guy.

That’ll start in the Alamo Bowl against Oklahoma’s so-so secondary. He’s going to need to step up and I believe he’ll take over as the top target, putting together the best game of his young career.

Franklin’s freshman season has been surprisingly quiet given how highly touted of a recruit he was and I think this is the opportunity he’s been waiting for. He’ll have a big game, catching six passes for over 100 yards and a touchdown. He’ll have his first true breakout game of 2021 and Duck fans will hope that he carries that over into his sophomore campaign.
