3. The future is bright at receiver

If you watched the game on Wednesday night, one thing had to really stand out to you about Oregon in a positive way: the future receiving corps looks deadly.

While we didn’t see any Ty Thompson throwing to these guys, we did see Anthony Brown stepping up in the second half to hit Dont’e Thornton, Troy Franklin, Kris Hutson, and even tight end Terrance Ferguson. He looked solid but he had a ton of help from the dynamic pass-catchers he had the pleasure to throw to.

Thornton, just a freshman, led all receivers with four catches for 90 yards which included a 66-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter. Franklin was close behind with four catches for 65 yards and a score, Hutson had six catches for 55 yards and a touchdown, and Ferguson had an eight-yard reception where he fought for a first down through contact.

These guys all have bright futures ahead and the receiving corps will be loaded for whoever the next quarterback is.
