Oregon will open its season with Dan Lanning’s former team and the reigning national title contender in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

This ranked battle will kick off the season and it’ll have everyone’s attention. It might not be close, however, as I think Georgia will be on another level to start the year and Oregon will still be looking to find its identity under a new head coach.

Lanning knows the Bulldogs’ offense well enough to make the adjustments to keep them off the board, but that defense might shut down the Oregon offense.

Final Score: Oregon 13, Georgia 27 (0-1)

Coming off an opening loss, Oregon will head back home to take on a pesky Eastern Washington team from the FCS and while the Eagles have been tough on FBS teams in the past, I think the Ducks impose their will in this one.

Bo Nix might struggle early on against the Eagles so this may be the game that Lanning makes the switch to Ty Thompson who will go off for 250 yards and three touchdowns in a comfortable win.

Final Score: Eastern Washington 20, Oregon 42 (1-1)
