Like Dave Iuli, Jahlil Florence is a former Oregon pledge who decided to reopen his recruitment shortly after Mario Cristobal accepted the head coaching job at Miami.

It’s hard to blame kids like Florence for reopening their recruitment because a coaching change can make a world of difference. However, the Ducks might end up winning the battle for him in the end because his teammate and top Oregon signee Jalil Tucker may be trying to lure him to Eugene. Having that familiar face on campus might help matters here.

Cristobal and Miami is making a late push for him, but Florence decided to call off all of his scheduled visits for the month of January which means USC and Oregon could lead here because he’s visited both of those finalists.

The composite has Florence ranked as the No. 154 overall recruit in the class and 18th-best cornerback but 247Sports is even higher on him. In fact, 247Sports has Florence listed as the No. 72 recruit in the 2022 class.

Florence would have an immediate impact for the Ducks.
