Four-star defensive lineman Gracen Halton just received a crystal ball to Oklahoma on 247Sports. Is he slipping away from Oregon football?

Dan Lanning is hard at work trying to piece together a quality 2022 class for Oregon football despite a number of recruits decommitting when Mario Cristobal left for Miami.

It’s been a tough uphill battle, but he’s already landed a couple of commitments but the Ducks are still in the 50-60 range nationally. He’s also trying to retain the commits in the 2022 class who haven’t signed yet.

And that includes four-star defensive lineman Gracen Halton.

The four-star lineman from San Diego, Calif., has been committed to Oregon for about a year now, but the fact that he didn’t sign in the early period shows that he still had some reservations about the coaching change. On Sunday, 247Sports Oklahoma insider Parker Thune put in a crystal ball for Halton to flip to the Sooners.

This is an interesting development considering he was just offered by Oklahoma on Dec. 30 and there has been no reported visit scheduled to Norman, according to 247Sports.

Halton did just take a visit to Miami on Jan. 14 which shows that Cristobal is still trying to flip him, but recent signs are pointing to Oklahoma being Oregon’s biggest competition on signing day.

Is Halton slipping away from Oregon?

With a level seven confidence prediction by an Oklahoma insider, it seems as if Halton has been in close contact with Oklahoma since his offer and the Ducks should be putting in some serious work to keep him. Expect Lanning to put on the full-court press, but this is definitely something to monitor.
