Oregon football is reportedly the team to beat for four-star running back Jordan James who’s currently committed to Georgia.
Dan Lanning has been recruiting his heart out ever since he got to campus following Georgia’s national title win and Oregon football is benefitting big time.
Although the Ducks just lost four-star defensive lineman Gracen Halton who decommitted after receiving a 247Sports crystal ball to Oklahoma, Lanning is piecing together a list of targets for National Signing Day.
Oregon is hoping to land a couple of elite prospects who have the Ducks high on their lists such as Arlis Boardingham and Jahlil Florence. The Ducks are also high on the list of a Georgia commit in four-star running back Jordan James who recently visited Eugene and it looks like they’re in good shape for a potential flip.
According to a report from Steve Wiltfong on 247Sports, Oregon is the team to beat for the four-star Georgia running back commit.
This is great to hear coming from Wiltfong as he’s as connected as any recruiting expert in the country. Him saying that Oregon is the “one to beat” for James is basically making it feel like if he’s going to flip on signing day, it’ll be Oregon or no one.
As you’ve probably figured out by now, Oregon is in desperate need for a running back after Trey Benson transferred to Florida State, Travis Dye transferred to USC, and CJ Verdell went to the NFL.
The running back room is pretty quiet outside of Sean Dollars and Byron Cardwell so the addition of James would be huge along with potentially a transfer in Jarek Broussard.
This is a great development for Lanning and Oregon.
