Four-star cornerback Khamari Terrell just committed to Oregon football on Friday. The Ducks are getting a talented defensive back.

Oregon football received some good news on Friday as four-star cornerback Khamari Terrell committed, boosting the Ducks from the No. 63 class in the country to No. 54.

The Ducks are gaining some momentum ahead of signing day and it feels like Dan Lanning is far from done adding to his 2022 class.

Terrell had been trending toward Oregon for a couple of weeks after it looked like he was a strong Baylor lean and he held some elite offers before this decision. According to 247Sports, he holds just eight offers, but they include the likes of Clemson, Florida, Baylor, Mississippi State, USC, Missouri, and LSU.

When you have an offer sheet like that, you know you’re doing something right.

Oregon should feel good about stealing the Texas native from Baylor and he should have an impact on the Ducks right away. He’s ranked the No. 28 cornerback in the 2022 class and rated as a four-star on 247Sports.

What does Terrell bring to Oregon football?

The four-star cornerback has decent size at 6-1 and 180 pounds and he’s also a track star. He has the speed to hang with some of the best receivers in the Pac-12 so that won’t be an issue and he has the size to really make things tough in 50-50 ball situations.

Terrell has the speed to make up for a misstep in coverage and it’s clear when you watch his highlights that he plays with an edge and oozes confidence.

Fortunately for Oregon, they have some talented cornerbacks set up to start in 2022 and Terrell could push for a spot on the two-deep, but I don’t see him playing extensive snaps until his second season. This is a quality depth addition and he has the look of a future lockdown corner.

Oregon got a good one on Friday.
