Oregon football is bolstering its defensive line with some help in the 2022 recruiting class as well as the transfer portal in the form of Jordon Riley.

Dan Lanning has been active in the transfer portal lately and he added a Washington State kicker on Sunday afternoon as well as Nebraska defensive lineman Jordon Riley hours later.

Riley, a former North Carolina player, JUCO transfer, and Nebraska lineman, committed to Oregon on Sunday night. He was the No. 37 defensive lineman in the 2017 class when he committed and signed with North Carolina and then went to Garden City C.C. where he was the No. 28 overall JUCO transfer in 2020. He then committed to Nebraska.

The JUCO transfer had eight total tackles and a tackle for loss for Scott Frost’s Cornhuskers in 2020 and 2021 and he entered the portal this offseason.

On Sunday night, Riley committed to Oregon, bolstering a defensive line that needs help.

Although he doesn’t have a ton of production to his name, he’s a big body with plenty of experience at the JUCO level as well as two Power Five programs. He could see the field early on as the Ducks are losing some key pieces up front on the defensive line.

Riley is a massive lineman at 6-6 and 330 pounds and he’s going to be a load to handle for opposing offensive linemen. He could grow into a large role in Eugene.

The former Nebraska lineman joins Washington’s Sam Taimani as the two transfer defensive linemen to join the Ducks this offseason.
