Oregon football just signed the No. 25 recruiting class in the country and Dan Lanning has to be pleased. Let’s dive into some superlatives.

The first Dan Lanning recruiting class is all sewn up and Oregon football jumped from the 50-60 range all the way to No. 25 in the country on National Signing Day.

Oregon landed a number of talented players and even though the class is only 15 deep, it’s still ranked in the top 25 which just goes to show that these commits are highly-rated.

There are some underrated players, future stars, and intriguing prospects wherever you look.

Let’s get into some superlatives for the Ducks’ 2022 class.

Biggest surprise commit: Jordan James

I’ll be honest, when I saw that Jordan James was heading to Eugene for an official visit in mid-January, I didn’t think there was any chance Dan Lanning was going to flip him from Georgia, but the new head coach made up some serious ground against his former program and flipped the four-star running back on signing day.

It wasn’t a shock when he did officially flip, but it was surprising that Oregon was in the mix after just joining the fold after Lanning took over. That’s what makes him the most surprising.

Jahlil Florence could also go in this category along with Dave Iuli because no one expected either to come back to Oregon after decommitting, but James has to be the biggest surprise of all because he wasn’t on the radar in December.

Huge get for Lanning and Co.
