Most underrated: Emar’rion Winston

It was good to see Dan Lanning make Emar’rion Winston a priority in the 2022 class and he committed on signing day and that was a good recruiting win because he had just visited Washington the week before officially.

Lanning felt that Winston would be a good fit on the defensive line and he looks like a guy who could eventually become a monster on the edge.

If you go by the composite only, Winston is just a three-star recruit and the No. 491 overall recruit and 40th-best edge rusher in the nation. That seems way too low for how talented he is.

Winston has the ability to play some linebacker with his 6-3, 240-pound frame, but he’s likely going to line up as an edge rusher for the Ducks and with Kayvon Thibodeaux gone, this was a good addition. He may not play immediately, but I’d put money on Winston becoming a start by year two or year three in Eugene.

It’s hard to believe there are 39 better edge rushers in the country.
