The two-deep at the cornerback position isn’t too shabby for the Ducks even though Mykael Wright and DJ James are gone. Oregon returns Trikweze Bridges, Dontae Manning, Avante Dickerson, and Jaylin Davies while also bringing in Colorado transfer Christian Gonzalez who can play either safety or corner, but many see him at the latter.

So heading into the 2022 season, Oregon has a quality two-deep at corner, and then some. And then you add Jalil Tucker and Jahlil Florence to the mix and that gives the Ducks three lines of quality cornerbacks.

Given this info, how will Tucker and Florence play right away? I think they’re simply too talented to sit back and not play meaningful snaps this year.

I see Gonzalez and Manning or Bridges starting this season, but there will be a legitimate competition for the two-deep between Dickerson, Davies, Tucker, and Florence. While Dickerson and Davies are solid, they will be pushed heavily by the two four-star high school teammates from San Diego.

Florence and Tucker will play some solid snaps this season and I could see that carrying over into all-conference sophomore and junior years.
