A recent poll of FBS players by Goodyear showed many had some good things to say about Oregon football and Autzen Stadium, naming it among the toughest places to play in the country.

The poll, released on Wednesday also took into account several other factors including the fanbases and climate. It was taken with the players in mind as Goodyear surveyed 68 former players who played between 2001-2021.

The confidence of the survey is 95 percent and Oregon football and Eugene were noted throughout as having one of the best gameday environments and best traveling fanbases.

Oregon came in third for best road game environments behind Penn State at number one and LSU at number two. There was a three-way tie for fourth place that included Ohio State and the Horseshoe, the Big House in Michigan, and Texas.

The Pac-12 also saw schools in the Most Challenging College Town to Travel To category with no surprise, at least for me, at number one with Pullman, Washington topping the list. Colorado came in at number five when the survey was taken, but their record this season may not clearly reflect it.

Oregon is also listed among the top five best traveling fanbases. The Ducks came in fourth behind Ohio State, Georgia, and Clemson. Alabama is behind Oregon in 5th for best traveling fanbases.

While Oregon did not make the list for toughest road game traditions, some of note included the pink locker rooms at Iowa, the tradition of Jump Around at Wisconsin, and the White Out for Penn State home games at Beaver Stadium. The Oregon football tradition of Shout did not make the list.

The best part of this survey is that Goodyear is giving fans an opportunity to be heard with the Goodyear Road Tested Sweepstakes. Through November 30th, fans have the chance to share their opinion and be entered for a chance to win tickets to the College Football National Championship along with a tailgate experience that will not be forgotten.

Autzen Stadium will look to be loud again on Saturday night as the Ducks host Stanford at 8 pm Pacific Time on Fox Sports 1.
