Circle your calendars, Oregon football fans now know when the Cougars are coming to town.
Oregon Football has been the beneficiary of some key media attention this season. It’s pretty clear why when you have a Heisman Trophy Candidate quarterback in Bo Nix and one of the higher scoring offenses in the country along with an undefeated record.
Oregon takes an undefeated record into Seattle this week to take on the Washington Huskies. It will be a top ten matchup on Saturday at Husky Stadium. Kickoff is set for just after 12:30pm Pacific Time on ABC. The Washington State on October 21st will be during the day.
On Monday, the Pac-12 announced the Ducks will host the Cougars on Saturday, October 21st at 12:30 pm Pacific Time on ABC. It will be the third game at 12:30pm for Oregon in their last four games. It started with Colorado, continues with Washington this week, and homecoming vs Washington State next week.
The Ducks and Huskies enter the game this week having extra time to prepare for one of the biggest Pac-12 games of the season. Oregon and Washington are undefeated at 5-0 and ranked 8th and 7th respectively in this week Associated Press Top 25 poll.
With this likely being the final season of the Pac-12, it is important that Oregon is able to control the needle, at least when it comes to television. This week’s game is getting the expected attention with a prime tv slot as well as ESPN College Gameday in Seattle before the game. Next week, the Ducks face a Washington State team that lost this weekend and fell a bit down the AP rankings.
The Cougars lost to UCLA 25-17 on the road and dropped six spots from 13 to 19 this week. While the Ducks and Huskies meet this weekend, Washington State will host an upstart Arizona team that took the USC Trojans into overtime on Saturday. The Trojans won the game and despite also being undefeated in Pac-12 play, their defense has been suspect enough that the team has fallen to number 10. USC faces a Notre Dame team this weekend that now has two losses.
After a week to prepare, both the Ducks and Huskes will meet for an opportunity to remain in the top ten. Kickoff Saturday is set for 12:30 pm Pacific Time on ABC.
