Under Dan Lanning, the Oregon Ducks look like they’ll be competing for national titles, not just bowl game appearances for the next few years. With the move to the Big Ten coming in 2024, there will be a lot of change for the Ducks, but at least the nostalgia of the Rose Bowl will be present in every matchup against Ohio State, Penn State, and Wisconsin.
Regardless, it’s the end of an era for Oregon. The Ducks joined the Pac-8 in 1968 and have been in the conference ever since, in all three iterations, the Pac-8, Pac-10, and Pac-12. So, it is a good point to look back at the history of Oregon football, specifically in the postseason.
Oregon has played in 36 bowl games from 1916-2022 with an inevitable 37th on the way in either December of 2023 or January of 2024. The Ducks are 16-20 in those games and are currently on a streak of seven straight seasons with a bowl game appearance from 2017-23.
The longest streak of seasons ending with a bowl game in program history is 11, from 2005 to 15. The most common bowl game that the Ducks have participated in is the Rose Bowl.
