Fall camp is well underway for the Oregon Ducks as Dan Lanning and the coaching staff look to get the final pieces in place before what everyone hopes will be a championship season. While other camps have major storylines on a daily basis, for the most part Oregon camp has been quiet. The Ducks returned a ton of talent, preventing a quarterback battle, and with most the starters locked in, there isn't a ton to follow.
While most of the pieces seem in place, there are some players who are emerging as too talented to keep off the field. Several players who once seemed like locks to earn a starting role may start looking over their shoulders as they could be unseated from their roles.
The 4 projected Oregon starters who could be unseated
Kawika Rogers - Guard
The Oregon Ducks are still trying to solidify the offensive line rotation, and the left guard position remains up for grabs. Fifth Year Senior Kawika Rogers is the leader for the starting job, but the veteran is being pushed by a freshman. True Freshman Tommy Tofi was one of the stars of the Spring, and he's continued to impress this Fall, giving him a chance to jump into the starting lineup.
Michael Bennett III - Tackle
Oregon could've added more via the Transfer Portal to build the offensive line, but Michael Bennett III was the lone addition, joining the Big Ten from the Ivy League. While Bennett has experience, giving him the inside track to a starting role, it's hard not to look over your shoulder when a top 10 recruit arrives on campus. Immanuel Iheanacho has received a ton of early praise, and with his talent level, the Ducks could deploy him early in the season.
Ify Obidegwu - Cornerback
Every cornerback aside from Brandon Finney Jr got exposed in the College Football Playoff loss, and Ify Obidegwu allowed 3 catches on 5 targets in just 15 coverage snaps as Indiana targeted him. This offseason, Oregon has an elite room of defensive backs, and if Ify Obidegwu can't take a step forward, he could get knocked out of the starting role. The Ducks have signed elite backs in Na'eem Offord and Dorian Brew who could easily take a massive leap in year two.
Aaron Flowers - Safety
Oregon has made a tradition out of signing 5-star safeties, and with Koi Perich transferring in, one starting role is already filled. Aaron Flowers should be the starter once again, but with the talent behind him, he can't get too comfortable. Former 5-stars Trey McNutt and Jett Washington have all the skills needed, and they could end up changing everyone's expectations.
