The first College Football Playoff rankings of the season are out and no one is surprised about where Oregon football stands.

After a 9-0 start to the year, the Ducks, who were ranked No. 1 in the AP Top 25, have been named the No. 1 team in the playoff rankings. They will likely hold that title for the remainder of the regular season barring some sort of crazy upset against the three remaining inferior opponents.

Tuesday night's rankings reveal was highly anticipated and relieved some of the stress people were having on election night. It was a nice change of pace from worrying about politics and results all day and Oregon fans had to be thrilled with their first ranking by the committee.

Going into the rankings reveal, there were really only a few teams who deserved that top spot along with Oregon like Ohio State, Georgia, and Miami. But Oregon beat the Buckeyes, Georgia has looked shaky lately, and everyone is a little hesitant about the strength of the ACC where Miami currently is. The Ducks were the logical No. 1 choice, but Ohio State fans want that rematch in the Big Ten title game in December.

That Big Ten title game looks like it's going to be a battle between No. 1 and No. 2 for the top spot in the playoff. That game is going to be one of the most exciting games of the year.

And if all goes as planned for the committee, there will be a rematch once again in the playoff -- potentially in the national title game.

Oregon has impressed everyone to this point. Let's keep it rolling.
