Clinton and Ryan cover the Big Ten as the "Inside the Pylon" podcast, live and direct from the heart of Big Ten country in Ohio. The fellas discussed Dante and Dakorien Moore, expectations for Dan Lanning in Year Four, and the potential of the partnership between Bryce Boettcher and Dillon Thieneman.
It's interesting to hear how the Ducks are perceived from fans around the conference. Inevitably the talk turns to comparisons to the success Marcus Freeman and Ryan Day had reaching the college football playoff final. Oregon's Big Ten Championship and 13-0 start is perceived as a letdown, incomplete by comparison.
Around the conference, the Ducks are justifiably perceived as the team that can't get over the hump. The only way to change that is to win in the postseason. At least the hosts were gracious and welcoming about it.
A personal note: While I'm not obligated to disclose this, I suffered a stroke in November of 2022, the weekend before the Utah game. Strokes are silent and deadly, and immediate treatment is life-saving. Ask your doctor about the signs. Thanks to my wife, who absolutely insisted I go to the hospital, I survived mine with minimal damage, a bit of numbness in my left hand and slightly impaired speech. I struggle sometimes to get words out, which is another reason I appreciate the opportunity to write. It keeps my brain striving for improvement. Best wishes to all of you and good health.
