Tight end Linkon Cure was in town when the No. 1 Oregon Ducks obliterated their rival Washington to cap off a perfect regular season. After the visit to Eugene, Cure was highly impressed by the head coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks, despite currently being committed to the Kansas State Wildcats.

The five-star TE committed to the Wildcats on July 1, 2024 – a program that currently lacks a true tight end on their prospective roster after this season.

However, watching the Ducks beat down the UW Huskies may have turned the tide towards Oregon for the elite player in the class of 2025.

According to 247Sports, Cure is the No. 1 tight end in the nation and the No. 2 overall athlete coming out of Kansas in 2025. Overall, he is ranked No. 32 nationally for all positions. 247Sports' experts give Oreogn a 27.3 percent chance to flip the Wildcats' commit.

At 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds, Cure is just 35 pounds lighter than Oregon's current star tight end Terrance Ferguson but Cure does have an extra inch on the current Duck. Not only is Cure a star on the football field, he is a two-time state champion in the 300-meter hurdles.

Cure runs an 11.05 in the 100-meter dash, a 14.49 in the 110-meter hurdles, a 21.90 in the 200-meter dash, and a 38.90 in the 300-meter hurdles. The football prospect has also competed in basketball throughout the high school career.

Crystal Ball experts still have Cure strongly committed to the Kansas State Wildcats but they're telling us there's a chance for the Ducks.
