The Oregon Ducks have done a miraculous job of maintaining their coaching staff after their historic run during the 2024 season. However, over the weekend, it was reported that Oregon's co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Junior Adams was set to take the same job with the Dallas Cowboys.
Adams, who joined Lanning in Eugene during his first year as Oregon's head coach in 2022, has found incredible success with the Ducks' wideout room. Despite bringing in receivers who are regarded as under the radar, Oregon's wideouts have become stars and there will most likely be an Oregon wideout selected in the NFL Draft for a third year in a row.
The wide receivers have always spoken highly of Adams and their success on the field has earned Adams a lot of respect across the country, especially at the NFL level.
Throughout his career as an assistant coach, Adams spent four years at Eastern Washington, where he coached legendary receiver Cooper Kupp who has had a phenomenal career in the NFL for which he gives Adams a lot of credit.
"I have had a lot of coaches throughout my career as a football player," Kupp said. "None have had a greater impact on me than Coach Adams. His ability to coach the wide receiver position is unmatched due to his knowledge of the game as a whole, as well as ability to maximize the potential of every one of his players physically and mentally. The best there is."
Adams was a wide receiver himself when he played college football for the Oregon State Beavers and later the Montana State Bobcats. He has been a wide receivers coach since 2004 when he took over the position at his alma mater Montana State.
With stars like Tez Johnson, Traeshon Holden, and more former Oregon receivers in the 2025 NFL Draft class, Adams might be able to maintain his wideout room when he makes the move to Dallas.
