Given the fact that Dan Lanning and his coaching staff got most of the 2027 recruiting class in place coming into the season, there hasn't been much movement for the Ducks in the cycle. Oftentimes when you enter the final months before National Signing Day, the only real movement is often flips, and with the way Oregon's season has unfolded, you would've expected moves against the Ducks.
Instead, Oregon's coaching staff continues to evaluate film, and with some players having great Senior seasons, it allows the staff to start pursuing players late in the process. On Saturday, Oregon is hosting an under the radar recruit who could quickly become the latest commitment.
Oregon offers 3-star WR Relando Jefferson IV leading to decommitment
This weekend, Oregon is hosting a massive group of recruits, but there are some players to watch on campus. In terms of looking for a commitment, the Ducks may be eyeing 2027 recruit Relando Jefferson IV who picked up an offer on Saturday.

The Oregon offer clearly had an impact on Jefferson who entered the day as a Fresno State commit as 24/7 Sports' Jackson Moore has reported that he decommitted from the Bulldogs.

Given how quickly Relando Jefferson IV decommitted from Fresno State, you have to like where Oregon stands in this recruitment. Jefferson attends Central East in Fresno, California, which is the same high school as Oregon freshman running back Brandon Smith, which should play into the Ducks' favor.
According to Rivals' Industry Recruiting Rankings, Relando Jefferson IV is the 1835th ranked player in the country, the 258th ranked wide receiver in the class, and the 170th ranked player out of California. The ranking is going to be far too low, and on the next update, Jefferson should be a fast riser, as he's caught 54 passes for 1,104 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Dan Lanning and his staff have put together an impressive 2027 recruiting class, ranking 4th in the country with 25 total commitments. Already in this class are 5-star WR Dakota Guerrant, 4-star athlete Xavier Sabb, 3-star in-state commit Malachi Garlington, and 4-star athlete Tae Walden Jr who could play DB or WR for the Ducks. It never hurts to add depth at the wide receiver position, and Jefferson could be another solid pickup for the staff, especially with the potential for any of the commits to flip.
This offseason, Oregon is going to at minimum, lose wide receivers Evan Stewart and Iverson Hooks as both are out of eligibility. Add in the potential for the room to lose some pieces to the Transfer Portal, and signing a bigger recruiting class never hurts.
Oregon fans will now get to pay close attention to Relando Jefferson IV as this recruitment could end quickly. With the 3-star wide receiver on campus, you'd like the staff to ensure he leaves campus committed to the Ducks, but if he continues to explore his options, it'll be an interesting recruitment to watch the rest of the fall heading into Early National Signing Day.
