Despite how little of a challenge USC has provided Lanning, he clearly holds a special level of disdain for Oregon's West Coast rival. That was on full display Saturday after Dante Moore was knocked out of the game on a disgusting hit, with Lanning seemingly ready to go to war with anyone wearing USC colors.
After beating Lincoln Riley with a backup quarterback to move to 3-0 over USC, Dan Lanning has all the swagger in the world, and rightfully so. Oregon vs. USC has been a much bigger rivalry on the recruiting trail, and on Saturday Night, Dan Lanning may have even ended that.

At the end of his press conference, Dan Lanning made sure to send one final message to all the recruiting targets the Ducks have in the state of California on a night when tons of recruits were in attendance. Dan Lanning issued a simple ultimatum: either leave California to play for the Ducks or stay home and go to a Chris Brown concert.

Dan Lanning clearly has his swagger back, and the hate that he has for the USC Football program is as strong as ever. It's wild that the Trojans continue to win recruiting battles over Oregon when Riley hasn't accomplished anything meaningful in Los Angeles, and it may have taken Dan Lanning pointing it out to make that end.
Living in Los Angeles may have some perks, and USC is sure to pitch all the highlights of living in Hollywood. The type of recruit who cares more about Hollywood life rather than football isn't of interest to Dan Lanning, and he always makes that clear. Recruits can continue to stay home and enjoy the beaches and all the stars in the area, but they'll never win anything meaningful under this regime.
The state of California has become a key recruiting ground for the Ducks, and Oregon has stolen the West Coast swagger the Trojans once had. Dan Lanning continues to make it clear he's going to win games, and if recruits aren't interested in winning, Lincoln Riley will happily have them.
