Dan Lanning and his coaching staff finished their work with spring practices, and now the focus shifts to where they're arguably at their best, recruiting. The next few weeks will bring the chaos of "official visit season" as the Nation's top recruits travel around the country before likely deciding where they'll start their college football careers.
Oregon has made it a tradition to go on incredible recruiting tears in the Summer in order to secure a top 5 class nationally. This year, if Dan Lanning and his staff are going to make a push for the recruiting crown, one 5-star recruit may be the biggest key.
Marcus Fakatou could make or break Oregon's recruiting class
If there's any recruit in this class that Oregon fans should be hoping for the most, currently it's Sierra Canyon product Marcus Fakatou. The 5-star recruit recently released his final 5 schools with the Ducks making the cut, but in order to win out it'll take some heavy lifting. Fakatou will take visits to each school on his finalists list giving Lanning and Company a chance to leave their mark.

The part that makes Marcus Fakatou such an important target is the fact that he could look to team up with his High School teammate Kasi Currie. Along with Fakatou, Kasi Currie is a major recruiting target for the Ducks on the defensive line.
Kasi Currie is a top 60 recruit who Oregon's very much in the mix for, along with some of the key players in both recruitments like Ohio State. Fakatou is a 5-star recruit who transferred to Sierra Canyon who has a defense loaded with elite level college prospects.
The two are such a priority for Oregon that the Ducks sent Tony Tuioti and Chris Hampton to watch the duo at Sierra Canyon's showcase this week. Landing the duo could instantly vault Oregon into the race for the Nation's top class, but Fakatou picking elsewhere could make it tough for the Ducks to sign a top 5 class.
