Up. The. Sco.
Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks just received a commitment from four-star defensive lineman Zane Rowe, snagging him out from under the noses of quite a few of his home-state programs and a handful of other notable head coaches across the country.
Rowe, the No. 11 defensive lineman in the class of 2027, is a Texas native, and seemingly ignored his offers from his state, including the opportunity to play for the Texas Longhorns, SMU Mustangs, and more.
Instead, he narrowed it down to a handful of out-of-state teams, including the Ducks, the Washington Huskies, the Oklahoma Sooners, and the North Carolina Tar Heels. He chose to play for Lanning instead of UW's Jedd Fisch, OU's Brent Venables, and even UNC's Bill Belichick.

"Time to up the Sco, Let’s Go Ducks," Rowe shared when he committed to Oregon on Friday evening.
Rowe joins yet another recruiting masterclass for Lanning and the Ducks, currently ranking eighth in the country and second in the Big Ten, only trailing the Ohio State Buckeyes. The young defensive lineman is now the highest-rated prospect in Oregon's upcoming recruiting class.
With his commitment, Rowe joins a half dozen blue-chip recruits already committed to Oregon, including four-star offensive tackle Drew Fielder, four-star running back Cadarius McMiller, and fellow four-star defensive lineman Cam Pritchett, just to name a few.

Rowe has been a complete monster in high school, already building quite the resume with his senior season still on the horizon.
Over the last three years, he has amassed 170 total tackles, with 140 of those being solo takedowns. He has earned 47 tackles for loss, 19.0 sacks, 48 hurry ups, 21 pass deflections, six forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, two interceptions, and one blocked field goal.
In other words, pretty much any play that has the defense on the field has included Rowe making a stop for his team.
He's even earned 101 receiving yards and four rushing yards for two total touchdowns on the other side of the ball, proving that he's more than a defensive monster for opponents to reckon with.
