Few teams will enter the 2026 college football season with nearly as much hype as the Oregon Ducks coming off back-to-back trips to the College Football Playoff. The buzz started building the moment Dante Moore, Matayo Uiagalelei, and A'Mauri Washington opted to return for one final push. The loaded roster earned it's first accolades when the Coaches Poll and AP Poll were revealed with the Ducks ranked 2nd.
Oregon's loaded roster is among the best in college football between the solid core pieces and the superstars that could take over any game. The Ducks pure star power was on full display when the Associated Press unveiled their Preseason All-American teams.
Ducks trio earns AP First-Team All-American honors
When you think of Oregon, and the Ducks chances to win the National Championship it starts and ends with Dante Moore. After a breakout season passing for 30 touchdowns with 10 interceptions, Dante Moore could've been the 2nd overall pick in the NFL Draft, but he returns as one of the best quarterbacks in the Country. The AP Voters agree with that sentiment as Dante Moore beat out Trinidad Chambliss to earn First-Team All-American honors.
Just like Dante Moore, A'Mauri Washington made the decision to pass up on being a potential 1st round pick to take one more shot at winning a National Championship. The man who starts it all in the middle of the defensive line earned the same honors as Dante Moore, being named a 1st team All-American defensive tackle along with Oklahoma's David Stone.
Dan Lanning has made a tradition out of making splashes in the Transfer Portal, and this offseasons was Minnesota star Koi Perich. The Ducks are looking for Koi Perich to fill the hole left behind by Dillon Thieneman who was the splash addition of last offseason at safety. Heading into the season, Perich will carry those expectations as a 1st team All-American with Alabama safety Bray Hubbard.
Arguably the biggest miss by the voters was making Brandon Finney Jr a 2nd-Team All-American at cornerback behind Leonard Moore and Ellis Robinson IV. Both cornerbacks are solid players, but Finney put together an incredible season last year, locking down even Indiana's wide receivers when no one else could.
The biggest snub from Oregon was tight end Jamari Johnson missing out on both teams. The biggest reason that Johnson likely missed the list was the fact that he was a backup to Kenyon Sadiq while Trey'Dez Green and Terrance Carter Jr were starters for their teams. Johnson should be able to put up the stats to make the list at the end of the season, but he's shown he's capable of outplaying both nominees.
