Derrick Harmon is the perfect player to lead Oregon against Michigan
Heading into a matchup with a 5-3 Michigan team in Week 10, there might be some Oregon football fans and players who are overlooking the Wolverines.
Derrick Harmon won't let that happen, though.
The former Michigan State star played against Michigan for three years prior to transferring to Oregon and he has a deep hatred for the Wolverines. He takes this game personally and you know he's going to make sure his teammates do as well. He's the perfect guy to lead the Ducks into Ann Arbor because he's going to play with a chip on his shoulder, having only beaten the Wolverines one time back in 2021 but he was a lightly-used freshman.
Now that he's a veteran leader of the No. 1 team in the country, he's going to make sure the Ducks are ready to face a team that he truly doesn't like. Just listen to how he speaks about Michigan:
It's pretty clear that he just holds that hatred in his soul for eternity no matter who he's playing for because he remembers how heated the rivalry was and how Michigan never truly showed Michigan State any respect while he was there. And he just saw his former teammates lose to the Wolverines last weekend in Ann Arbor by a touchdown.
Harmon went one step further and stated that the Big House isn't even that loud and that he doesn't mind playing in front of 100,000-plus Wolverine fans.
You can tell he hates Michigan and that's going to play a major role on Saturday. Not only is he familiar with this program, but he grew up in the state of Michigan and a win over the Wolverines would mean so much to him, despite them being average this year.
The Ducks are in good hands here.
