The next best thing to an Oregon win is a Washington loss, and perfect Saturdays are the ones where Duck fans get both.

Saturday morning in Ann Arbor, Michigan crushed Demond Williams and the Huskies, 24-6, intercepting three of Williams' passes and holding leading rusher Jonah Coleman to 16 carries for 50 yards.

In their two games against Michigan and Ohio State this year, Dedd Fisch and UW have lost 24-6 and 24-7. They've beaten Colorado State, UC Davis and Washington State, came from behind against Maryland and Rutgers to reach 5-2.

Their schedule remains favorable down the stretch with a home game against Illinois, cellar dwellers Purdue and Wisconsin, then at 2-4 UCLA before closing with the Ducks in Seattle.

Michigan sacked Williams twice while holding him to -19 yards on five carries, stepping in front of three of his passes. That should quiet the Heisman/playoff chatter for the rest of this season.

It also silences some bold talk on social media, something that got loud after Dante Moore struggled against Indiana.

Today Williams completed 20-32 passes for 209 yards. In the second half he threw the three picks in a span of five passes, and they led to 17 unanswered points for the Wolverines, blowing open a close game.

Fisch said, “Just didn’t feel like I did a good enough job getting him ready for the game."
