A'lique Terry and the Oregon offensive line earned semifinalist honors for the Joe Moore Award, the fourth year in a row the Ducks have made the final ten for college football's most coveted unit trophy.
They joined the following teams in the final group:
Cincinnati
Duke
Georgia Tech
Indiana
Iowa
Michigan
Oregon
Texas A&M
Utah
Vanderbilt
It's happened before that a team not named to the semifinal 10 won the Joe Moore, but it's rare, last achieved by Iowa in 2016.
A former Notre Dame and NFL offensive lineman, CBS college football analyst Aaron Taylor chairs the selection committee, which includes sideline reporter Jenny Dell, former Oregon and NFL lineman Geoff Schwartz, Cole Cubelic and Mike Golic Jr.
"Offensive line play across the country has been uneven, but this group’s tape still represents the very best the sport has to offer,” said Taylor. “The programs on our list of semifinalists have earned a spot based on the entirety of their body of work throughout the course of the season. From here, the bar from semifinalist to finalist rises significantly, with consistency and finishing usually leading the charge.”
The Ducks rank second in the nation in yards per carry this season at 6.36 while averaging 239.7 yards per game. They've allowed 11 sacks this season, tied 21st.
Taylor attended Oregon's loss to the Hoosiers back in October, so he's seen them at their worst. Unlike many awards, this one includes the postseason, and the selection committee watches and evaluates film.
In their last three games, the coach Terry's group has paved the way for 415, 203 and 261 yards rushing.

The group has stood out for their communication, handling tough road environments at Kinnick Stadium and the White Out at Penn State. Iapani Laloulu, Emmanuel Pregnon, Dave Iuli, Isaiah World and Alex Harkey have gelled as a unit, and they're likely to play their best football in the season's critical weeks.
At right tackle, Lakeland, Florida native Gernorris Wilson filled in capably when Harkey went down with an ankle injury in practice before the Iowa game. The Ducks ran for 261 yards. 7.3 a carry, against a Hawkeye defense that came into the game allowing 88 yards a game.
