James Ferguson-Reynolds, a transfer punter from Boise State, committed to the Oregon Ducks Thursday afternoon.
Ferguson led the nation in punting in 2023 with a 49.7-yard average, a finalist for the Ray Guy Award. He's put 60 career punts inside the 20 according to Pete Nakos of On3 Sports, although ESPN credits him with 19.
A senior from Geelong, Victoria, Australia, Ferguson-Reynolds punted for the Broncos for three seasons. He's a former Australian rules football player who trained at ProKick Australia, 6-2, 180, a College Football News Freshman All-American in 2022, All-Mountain West First Team in 2023.
Against Oregon last September he uncorked a 68-yard punt, against Air Force as a sophomore he flipped the field with a 71-yard kick.
The Ducks' punters were inconsistent in the Spring Game and Dan Lanning wondered aloud in the press room about picking one up in the portal.
