Oregon picked up a commitment from a 5-star transfer portal prospect, Ohio State transfer Sean Stewart on Wednesday, a former McDonald's All-American.
Stewart is 6-9, 220, a power forward who averaged 5.7 points and 5.8 rebounds a game for OSU. He shot 54 percent from the floor and 50 percent from three while playing 18.4 minutes a game, a 50 percent free throw shooter.
The "50% from three" stat is a bit misleading-- Stewart shot just two threes all season, making one. Still, NBA Draft Room says about him, "Has shown flashes of a face up game and mid range shooting ability. Is really explosive and bouncy and gets above the rim easily."
Stewart played his freshman season at Duke before transferring to the Buckeyes. He started 20 games last season and is considered an elite rebounder.
He can rebound, defend and jump out of the gym. He's a solid addition for an Oregon team that's been quiet in the portal and recently placed out of the preseason Top 25.
