On 3rd and 11 with the backfield empty, a free blitzer sacked Dante Moore to force another punt, Indiana's fifth sack of the game.
The Ducks had little life and no pass protection. James Ferguson-Reynolds got off a good punt to the 13.
Boettcher made a nice stop. On 3rd and 2, Brandon Finney stepped in front of a pass by Mendoza and returned it for a 35-yard touchdown and a tie, a remarkable turn in the game, 20-20.
Mendoza hung a floater, much like a hanging curve in a baseball game. Freshman Finney made the first pick of his Oregon career.

Mendoza hit Surratt in the right flat, first down at the 35. Hemby ran for 3 with 8:00 minutes to play.

This time Indiana drove 75 yards in 12 plays to lead 27-20. Oregon's home and Big Ten winning streaks were in deep jeopardy.
Flaws some fans suspected in the Ducks program got exposed today. The offensive line couldn't protect or create space for the running game. Indiana has been tough and aggressive. The Ducks have just 45 total yards in the second half.
Four free rushers on first down. Noone won their blocks. Moore had no time to throw.
A batted pass was intercepted, and Indiana took total control. There are free rushers on every play. The Hoosiers have the ball with six minutes to play and Oregon on their heels.
Mendoza kept for 8, the Hoosiers inside the 30. A pass stopped short of the sticks, ruled a first down, under review for the spot, upheld.
The time became an Indiana ally, down to 4:05. Hemby ran straight ahead for 6. 3:49. A run by Hemby got it inside the 10, clock down to 2:55 as Lanning used all of his timeouts.
Dan Lanning's record dropped to 40-7 with the loss, the Ducks to 5-1 and 2-1 in the Big Ten. They'll have to regroup quickly; they travel to Rutgers next Saturday.
Despite the loss they remain alive for the playoffs and a great season, but it will take some soul searching and evaluation to turn it around. They lost to tough, disciplined team that executed well and answered every challenge.
Defensively, Bryce Boettcher posted 11 tackles for the Ducks. Indiana held edge rusher Matayo Uiagalelei completely in check. He had just one tackle for the game.
Oregon held Indiana to 128 yards rushing, 3.9 yards a carry but the Hoosiers were incredibly efficient with their drives and the possession passing game. They moved the chains, 23 first downs to 13.
Indiana beat a Top Five team for the first time on the road. Moore, hit as he threw tried to force the ball into McClellan for his second interception of the game, third of the year.
His bid for the Heisman plummets. They simply didn't have a good day as a team. Indiana takes the driver's seat for a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game opposite Ohio State.
The Ducks have remaining games against Iowa, USC and Washington that will require a serious reset. But the first hurdle is simply to regroup for a game against the Scarlet Knights in New Jersey.
It's a tremendous win for Indiana. They earned it with physical football. The Ducks ran 30 times for 81 yards. Oregon had just 41 yards of offense in the second half.
