Ducks lack resolve in the first quarter as Indiana leads 10-7.

Oregon started slow, just 21 yards on their first two possessions. The offensive line gave up a sack on the first play of the game. In the second series they went for it on fourth down and couldn't get a yard. The Indiana secondary had receivers blanketed.

Indiana reached the 22 after the turnover on downs, getting 24 yards on a back shoulder throw to Elijah Surratt. Theran Johnson broke up a pass to Surratt to set up a field goal, the Hoosiers taking a 3-0 lead.

The Ducks finally showed some life getting a stop on defense. A false start turned third and one into third and six, then A'Mauri Washington bulled the right guard right into Fernando Mendoza for a sack. With the punt the Ducks got the ball at midfield.

On 3rd and 3 Moore shuffled right, then dropped back to hit a wide-open Malik Benson for a 44-yard touchdown and a 7-3 lead.

Indiana moved the ball on the ground, crisp and efficient. Kaelon Black broke a run off tackle for 14 yards. The Ducks seemed subdued, even listless, Indiana pushing them off the line of scrimmage.

Boettcher stopped up a quick screen, forcing 2nd and 10 at the 23. Roman Hemby gained six off left tackle.Mendoza reached the 3, on a quarterback draw up the middle. Hemby drove through a tackle for a touchdown. The Hoosiers went 75 yards in 9 plays to lead 10-7.

Oregon didn't have the urgency or purpose and Indiana was playing with a chip on their shoulder.

Whittington burst through for 7 as the first quarter ended, tackled by the collar or the facemask.
