Oregon's fastest and most athletic quarterback has left the program, joining over 4,000 players from FBS football, more than 6,000 more from lower divisions.
Fan favorite Luke Moga, 6-2, 204 from Sunnyslope High School in Phoenix, announced he's entering the transfer portal according to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports. Moga ran 10.49 100 meters at the Arizona State Championships, making him one of the fastest quarterbacks in the country.
He showed up that intriguing speed with a 25-yard run against Montana State and a 22-yard burst against Oklahoma State in September, also completing a 51-yard pass to Jayden Limar. Though he played sparingly he sparked interest with big plays, also showing out at the Oregon Spring Game.
An undisclosed injury kept the redshirt freshman from seeing the field the rest of the way, meaning he may be able to apply for a medical redshirt at his next stop, giving him four seasons to play.
Toll grows as Ducks await NFL decisions from key players
For fans inclined to read tea leaves, Austin Novosad and Moga are both out, increasing the likelihood that Dante Moore is in.
