For a couple of cans of tuna and a jar of peanut butter Duck fans can witness first hand the debut of a new iteration of the Quack Attack.

The Oregon Spring Game is Saturday April 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Autzen Stadium.

Bring a light jacket. Weather Saturday afternoon is mostly cloudy with showers, light winds, occasional sun breaks.

But the forecast on the field calls for full tilt boogie. Dan Lanning appeared on the Big Ten Network's "B1G Today" program with Dave Revsine Wednesday and when asked about his quarterbacks he said:

"They're going to be looking to air it out a little bit."

That attitude and aptitude was very much in evidence in the video released from last Saturday's scrimmage. This is a quarterback group that can drive the ball downfield.

Five yards deep in his own end zone, Dante Moore put the ball on the money to Gary Bryant, in stride 50 yards down the field for a touchdown.

Brock Thomas' pass to the always-electric Dakorien Moore is right on time at the back of the end zone.

It's difficult to make conclusions in spring about a team's ceiling or the outcome of specific position battles. Often it's a mistake to do so: Matchups in the Spring Game and early scrimmages are notoriously ad hoc.

Players get dinged up. Some are still in recovery from last year. Some will continue to develop in the weight room and over the summer. Coaches don't merely play cards close to their chest-- sometimes they hide them in the meeting room altogether.

What IS useful is to observe the energy and enthusiasm, the moments where athleticism shines through. The Oregon Spring Game is the greatest football show in the West until September. For a small sack of food, it's also the greatest bargain and a win-win.

A football fan would be an utter fool to miss this. It'll be a full tilt boogie. For hopeless couch potatoes or the geographically disadvantaged. the show will also be on the Big Ten Network at 1 p.m. PDT.
