Four-star offensive tackle Kelvin Obot committed to Utah Tuesday over Oregon, Michigan and Nebraska, a 6-5, 300 offensive tackle from Fruitland, Idaho.

He was a player many analysts had counted in the win column for the Ducks, so it's a blow to the momentum of their 2026 class after picking up Koloi Kelly and Bryson Beaver recently. Because a program wants to land 4-5 offensive linemen in each cycle, it makes it more urgent that they flip Tommy Tofi after his recent decommitment from Cal.

The big prize remains five-star Immanuel Iheanacho of Georgetown Prep in North Bethesda, Maryland. Obot is the No.9 offensive tackle in the 247 Sports Composite, No. 131 overall.

Tofi, 6-6, 335, decommitted from Cal Monday after visiting Oregon on June 20. He's also getting a push from BYU, but Oregon's received multiple predictions to complete the flip.

It's imperative that the Ducks close the deal on Tofi. The offensive line room loses Alex Harkey, Matthew Bedford, Isaiah World and Immanuel Pregnon at the end of the season, all redshirt seniors, they've recruited well in the last two cycles but A'lique Terry has to think in terms of depth and development.

Obot is a big miss. With a rating of 94, he's one of the highest recruits ever for the Utes, a state shot put and discus camp with size and athleticism.
