Fifth inning home runs by Mason Neville and Jacob Walsh propelled Oregon to a 13-3 win over Maryland to take the series over the Terps, who won the first game of Sunday's doubleheader 12-2.

Starting pitcher Jason Reitz gave up two runs in the first inning but settled down after that, striking out 11 over seven innings for the win, giving up just one more run.

In the decisive fifth Burke-Lee Mabeus led off with a walk but the Ducks followed that with a pair of strikeouts. Carter Garate struck a two-out single to create some life, then Neville lofted the 0-0 pitch over the wall the other way in left center, the 32nd of his Oregon career.

After Dominic Hellman extended the inning hustling to second after a throwing error by the shortstop, Jacob Walsh blasted a homer to right center to put the Ducks ahead 8-3.

Reitz sailed through two more innings before giving way to Santiago Garcia and Cole Stokes. Garcia walked three but pitched a scoreless eighth. Stokes struck out two in the ninth to sew up the game and the series.

Before returning home the Ducks play a single game at Georgetown of the Big East, 12-23 this season. Oregon hosts UCLA in a weekend series beginning Friday night, first pitch 5:05 p.m. PDT. Sunday's game will be telecast on the Big Ten Network, 2:05 p.m. PDT at PK Park.
