Jacob Walsh bashed three hits, including his 18th home run in the fifth as Oregon came back from a 6-2 deficit to tie Iowa State at the top of the Big Ten standings at 21-8, winning 9-6 at Duane Banks Field in Iowa City.
The Ducks got four runs in the 7th to take the lead, hustling for two insurance runs in the 9th.
Down 4-1 in the top of the 5th, Walsh destroyed a two-out, two-seam fastball to get the Ducks within 4-2.
The hole got bigger in the bottom of the inning as Iowa's Caleb Wulf and Daniel Rogers crushed back-to-back homers to lead off the inning, Iowa ahead 6-2.
Ian Umlandt came on to relieve Clarke and struck out the first batter he saw, gave up a single, then got a fly to left to end the inning with no further damage.
Anson Aroz got the Ducks a run back with a leadoff home run to left, 6-3. Aroz's shot traveled 430 feet.
Umlandt gave up a one-out double to Moore. Gable MItchell fouled off five pitches before fouling out to Walsh at first, the runner going to third. A lineout to Maddox Molony ended the inning.
The Ducks got it going in the top of the 7th. Mason Neville led off with a double. Dominic Hellman hung in there, hit by a pitch. Jacob Walsh lined a double into the gap in right center, scoring Neville.
Drew Smith singled to score Hellman, Oregon closing to 6-5. Aroz laid down a sacrific bunt.
With runners on second and third, Molony lined out. Chase Meggers got behind in the count 1-2 but spoiled several pitchers to work Hackett for for a walk, loading the bases.
Two outs and the bases loaded for No. 9 hitter Ryan Cooney., who worked the count to 2-2 and lined a double into the corner to score two, the Ducks taking a 7-6 lead.
Umlandt got one out in the bottom of the 7th, gave up a single and gave way to Cole Stokes.
Stokes got the first batter fishing for a ball outside the zone, two outs. Frost stoke second, but the fireballing righthander got Guerin to sky a ball to center and Iowa stranded another baserunner.
The Ducks took a 7-6 lead into the 8th. They went down 1-2-3, Hellman called out on a close play at first, Walsh getting underneath a ball, skying a flyout to left center.
Stokes cinched up to strike out the first two hitters in the bottom of the eighth, giving the ball to Santiago Garcia, the lefty, who'd held opponents to a .172 batting average.
In the 9th Aroz got aboard with a bunt single and went to second on a passed ball, to third on a wild pitch. Molony walked, runners at the corners, no outs.
Meggars got a run home with a squeeze bunt and beat the throw at first for a single, under review, upheld. Maddox Molony scored on a wild pitch.
The Ducks went into the 9th with a 9-6 lead.
Garcia got a grounder to Cooney to start the inning, gave up a single and a walk, bringing the tying run to the plate with no outs.
Mark Wasikowski went to the closer Seth Mattox, the 6-3 righthander from California Baptist. Garate made a diving stop at third and tagged the bag but as he scrambled to his feet to fire over to first, his throw was wide.
Walsh made a diving stop of his own to save it. Two on and two outs.
