We are just two days away from what might be the biggest test remaining on the 2024 regular season schedule for Oregon football. The Ducks will be headed to Ann Arbor on Saturday afternoon to face a 5-3 Michigan team coming off an emotional win over its in-state rival.
Michigan didn't play very well against Michigan State and still secured the win because it felt like the Spartans beat themselves with a big turnover before the half and a poorly-decided onside kick.
As is tradition here, I've decided to run an EA Sports College Football 25 simulation for the big game and see what the video game believes will happen between these two teams.
No, the simulation isn't always accurate but it did have an interesting result for Saturday's game in Ann Arbor that might not make Oregon fans very happy.
Let's take a look.
EA Sports CFB 25 sim results for Oregon football vs. Michigan
College Football 25 has Michigan actually pulling off the upset over Oregon in overtime on Saturday afternoon, 27-24. The Ducks had a 10-point lead in the second half before Michigan stormed back, sent the game to overtime, stuffed Oregon on their only possession and won by three.
Let's hope there's a better result on Saturday, but here are the key stats:
Player | Stats |
---|---|
Dillon Gabriel | 19-for-30 with 210 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs; 19 rushing yards |
Jordan James | 24 carries for 88 yards, 1 TD |
Tez Johnson | 6 catches, 77 yards, 1 TD; 58-yard TD run |
Terrance Ferguson | 4 catches for 31 yards |
Evan Stewart | 2 catches for 39 yards |
Jeffrey Bassa | 9 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack |
Jordan Burch | 5 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 2 sacks |
Matayo Uiagalelei | 4 tackles |
Brandon Johnson | 1 interception |
Atticus Sappington | 1-for-2 on FGs, long of 19 yards |
The result was disappointing, especially since it looked like Oregon was going to run away with a double-digit win, but good thing this is just a video game. The Ducks can't overlook this Michigan team on the road, however. Weird things can happen at the Big House.
