The Oregon Ducks head into the college football season with a clear mission: win the National Championship. After two straight runs to the College Football Playoff to begin the Ducks' time and the Big Ten, making the playoff is no longer a goal. Oregon fans have been desperate for a National Championship, and the hope is that this is the season the Ducks deliver.

This season, Dan Lanning may have the most talented roster he’ll ever have as head coach at Oregon. Between players returning to school rather than entering the NFL Draft and key transfer additions, anything short of a National Championship will feel disappointing.

EA College Football 27 names Oregon the nation's most talented team

One of the most fun aspects of the college football offseason is the lead up to the annual release of EA Sports' college football video game series. Every year, EA Sports releases it's rankings for everything ranging from stadiums to teams, units, and individual players. Autzen Stadium ranked as a top 10 toughest stadium to play in leading into this year's game.

Opponents who face the Ducks in Autzen Stadium will have an even tougher task at hand as Oregon earned a 91 overall rating, making Dan Lanning's team the most talented in the game.

It's easy to see why Oregon tops EA Sports' rankings as this team has some of the best players in the country. Dante Moore plays the most important position, and he may be the most talented quarterback in the country as he'll enter the season as a Heisman front runner after passing up on the NFL Draft.

Players like Evan Stewart, Dakorien Moore, and Jamari Johnson who Dante Moore will get to throw to are among the most talented pass catchers in the Country. Add in Oregon's talented stable of running backs and an offensive line with a ton of promise along with elite pieces like center Iapani Laloulu, and the offense should be among the Nation's best.

The defense may be the only unit in the Country with more high end talent than Oregon's offense. Dan Lanning was able to retain edge rusher Matayo Uiagalelei and defensive tackle A'Mauri Washington who were both thought of as potential 1st round picks. Add in elite players in the secondary in Koi Perich and Brandon Finney, and it'll be tough to score on this unit.

When the player ratings roll out, Oregon could easily have the games top ranked quarterback in Dante Moore, center in Iapani Laloulu, tight end in Jamari Johnson, edge rusher in Matayo Uiagalelei, defensive tackle in A'Mauri Washington, and safety with Koi Perich.

The rating for the Ducks is more than fair, and it'll only add to the hype for the Ducks to finally win a National Championship. The players will have to live up to the hype next season, but it's clear that on paper this team has the talent to go on an incredible run and give the fanbase the special season everyone's been waiting for.
