Committed to Georgia since September, Long Beach Poly five-star cornerback Donte Wright just scheduled an official visit to Oregon on June 19.

He's a flypaper cover guy with track speed, timed in 10.69 in the 100 meters and 21.80 in the 200, anchoring the Jackrabbits' 4x100 relay team that clocked a 40.3 400.

Wright ranks as the No. 31 prospect and No. 3 cornerback in the 247Sports Composite. He's got long arms and fluid hips, a sticky cover guy who impresses with his physical style and instincts. Particularly intriguing is the way he crashes down on the run or a screen pass with low, sure tackles. Watch his highlight film and you'll immediately think of Brandon Finney.

Long press corners with NFL traits are among the most coveted prospects in football recruiting, and the Dawgs have certainly had a lot of success at the position. When he committed last fall Wright said, “I felt the love when I got there and the plan that the coaches have for me, I felt really comfortable with it,” he said. “It’s a commitment I feel really strongly about, I’m not thinking about any other schools.”

He's not backing off from the Georgia pledge, but the Ducks made a school visit this winter and he appreciates their commitment. He told Adam Gorney of On3 Sports, “The relationship I’ve had with them since this all started. They’re staying in touch with me and making me feel like I’m their priority.”

With elite length and speed, Wright has offers from Oregon, Oklahoma, Penn State and Tennessee. Previously the Long Beach program has sent the Ducks linebacker Dylan Williams and an all-time great at wide receiver, Samie Parker. On the current team defensive back Juju Johnson, 5-11 with 10.5 speed, 43 tackles last season, is another Oregon target.

The Jackrabbits have sent over 60 players to the NFL, including Parker, DeSean Jackson and Juju Smith-Schuster.
