The main focus for the Oregon Ducks over the past month has been hitting the recruiting trail as the start of Official Visits allowed the coaching staff to start pushing for commitments as they look to build out this recruiting class. Through 3 weekends of visits, the Ducks have reeled in 4 commitments bringing the class to 17 overall and ranking 8th in the class rankings.

While the stretch has given Oregon fans plenty to be optimistic about, there are also some concerns in this class. The main concern is the fact that the Ducks are still looking for a defensive tackle commitment in a cycle where they will lose A'Mauri Washington and Bear Alexander to the NFL Draft.

The targets at the position have trended away form the Ducks as well as other teams have pounced this Spring. Kasi Currie committed to Texas last week while his Sierra Canyon teammate Marcus Fakatou cut the Ducks out of his finalist group. The duo looking elsewhere has created a clear top priority on the interior for Oregon.

Brayden Parks will make Oregon official visit while praising the Ducks

As all the other defensive tackles made news last week, Oregon had a reason to be concerned with 4-star Brayden Parks. The defensive tackle recruit has been seen as trending toward Notre Dame, and taking his visit to South Bend last weekend could've resulted in him shutting down his recruitment.

Instead, Brayden Parks confirmed that he'll visit Eugene this weekend while sharing that "Everything excites me about Eugene".

The news is massive for the Ducks as it looked like the Fighting Irish could've closed out the recruitment, and sent Oregon into a bit of a frenzy. The defensive tackle position hasn't gone Oregon's way thus far, but getting Brayden Parks on campus is a great step in the right direction.

According to Rivals' Industry Recruiting Rankings, Brayden Parks is the 166th ranked player in the country, the 18th ranked defensive tackle in the class, and the 9th ranked player out of Illinois. At 6-foot and 308 pounds, Parks already has the frame to play at the college level, and once he gets into a college strength and conditioning program he could become a monster.

This weekend, Oregon is going to need to crush it with Brayden Parks as he clearly is the best option still on the table. The staff needs to add talent to the room to help with replacing Washington and Alexander, and while transfers could help, you need to continue stacking depth from the high school ranks.
