Nobody watches games anymore. Everything now is rankings, power ratings and stats.
ESPN just ranked all 66 of the Power Four quarterbacks, and Dante Moore came in 17th.
1. Julian Sayin Ohio State
2. Haynes King Georgia Tech
3. Fernando Mendoza Indiana
4. Diego Pavia Vanderbilt
5. Jayden Maiava USC
6. Gunnar Stockton Georgia
7. CJ Carr Notre Dame
8. Trinidad Chambliss Ole Miss
9. Brendan Sorsby Cincinnati
10. Taylen Green Arkansas
11. Ty Simpson Alabama
12. Marcel Reed Texas A&M
13. Joey Aguilar Tennessee
14. Demond Williams Washington
15. Darian Mensah Duke
16. Luke Altmyer Illinois
17. Dante Moore Oregon
Bill Connelly is responsible for this travesty, and no doubt by the numbers and analytics the senior ESPN writer is right. But this list is full of quarterbacks who have cost their team games and come up short in the clutch.
The Huskies' Demond Williams, for example, has a QBR of 46.6 in his team's three losses. Pavia, Green and Aguilar have 12 losses between them-- seemingly they're getting some kind of SEC bonus,
While the Indiana game was Moore's learning experience and a broken nose knocked him out of the game against Wisconsin, the Detroit, Michigan native has been clutch when the Ducks needed him most. He won the Penn State game with a pair of touchdowns in overtime, calm under pressure, resourceful on the move.
I can’t stop watching this throw by Dante Moore.

Dude has been hated on and counted out a ton based on 4 games as a freshman.
Dudes been through so much.
Comes into one of the most hostile environments in the nation and genuinely balls out. pic.twitter.com/dLO71v1zSS
His 24-yard throw to Malik Benson with 24 seconds to play in the Iowa game was a brilliant response to pressure in a cold, chilly game against a tough opponent. Even in the Wisconsin game, he led the Ducks on a 99-yard drive just before halftime that put the Ducks in control.
Forget stats-- what sets Moore apart is how well he handles the two-minute drill. In overtime, in the close of a half, he's been like a quarterback he admires, Patrick Mahomes, on target and resourceful.
There’s threading the needle and then there’s whatever the hell this is by Dante Moore.

My word.

Moore's a winner. He's won without his best weapons, and he and the Ducks are just scratching the surface of how great they can be.
It's dumb to rank quarterbacks by stats alone. Measure a QB by how he responds with the game on the line, what he does to lift his team to a win. Dante Moore is a leader and a winner.
