Every recruit expected to attend Oregon's Week 1 showdown with Boise State

The start of the college football season also means the return of recruiting season. After a jam-packed summer for the coaching staff as the Ducks put the final pieces in place for what ranks as the 4th-ranked class in the 2027 cycle, Oregon will start to build a 2028 class.

Given the expectations for this season, recruits will be making trips from around the Country to get an up-close look at what Dan Lanning is building in Eugene. While the opening game of the season against Boise State isn't the biggest matchup of the year, recruits will be showing up by the dozens regardless of class to see the Ducks play.

Oregon's crowded Week 1 visitor list

Just because a player is committed to a school doesn't mean that they're locked in with their word as nothing is over in recruiting until the player arrives on campus. The Ducks will get a large portion of the 2027 recruiting class back on campus, helping keep the group locked in as well as having recruits on campus to help with the recruiting efforts.

Among the current commits, WR Dakota Guerrant, CB Josiah Molden, OL Cameron Wagner, OL Avery Michael, OL Lex Maliangi, DE Josh Christensen, WR Malachi Garlington, TE Anthony Cartwright III, and TE George VanSandt are all expected in Eugene this weekend.

Having Dakota Guerrant this weekend comes with an added bonus as he'll be in attendance with his High School teammate Deandre Bidden for the game. Bidden ranks as the 29th ranked player in the 2028 recruiting class and the 7th ranked wide receiver.

Dakota Guerrant and Deandre Bidden isn't the end of the Ducks quest to land some of Michigan's top players as top-40 recruit Jayden Bell will join them on the sidelines.

The biggest recruiting target visiting Eugene this weekend will be elite 5-star defensive tackle Kellen Hall. The Ducks cracked Kellen Hall's top 12, and are one of 10 schools who landed a visit from the monster defensive lineman. While it's a crowded group in the battle for Kellen Hall, Rivals' Steve Wiltfong revealed last week how deep in the mix the Ducks are.

"Kellen Hall might be their top overall target on the board because defensive tackle is going to be one of the biggest points of emphasis for Lanning and the Ducks in the 2028 cycle. And he gushed about the opportunity to play for the Big 10 powerhouse. He's talked about them being in contention for the national championship."

The biggest domino to fall in any recruiting class is when a school finally lands a quarterback to start recruiting players to join them. While Oregon has been a front runner for Josiah Boyd, the Ducks have built a great relationship with Tristin Gaines who moved up his Oregon visit to the season opener.

After chasing around Will Mencl on Saturday Night, Basha, AZ defensive lineman Landen Wade will take a break from terrorizing offenses to visit Eugene. Wade ranks as the 31st ranked player in the Country, meaning if he holds his rank, he'll finish the cycle as a 5-star recruit.

While Jedd Fisch looks to build momentum, Dan Lanning and the coaching staff continue to recruit the State of Washington. On Saturday, Aedyn Havili the No. 1 player in the state of Washington will be in Eugene watching the Ducks, rather than the Huskies and Cougars facing off.

Over the Summer, Oregon was able to get elite linebacker recruit Tylan Henderson on campus for a visit, and this weekend will be a return trip. Henderson ranks as the 204th ranked player in the Country and the 19th best linebacker in the class, and would be a great addition to Oregon's linebacker pipeline.

California is going to be a pivotal state for the Ducks in the 2028 recruiting cycle, and Aden Owolabi is among the top targets. Oregon is constantly sending offensive linemen to the NFL, and the 6-foot-6 offensive tackle would be a great addition to the offensive line pipeline.

Oregon is constantly recruiting some of the Nation's top wide receivers, and this weekend Ryan Richmond-McDavis makes his way to campus. Richmond-McDavis ranks as the 22nd best wide receiver in the class, and the top player out of Missouri.

Oregon has become one of the best schools in the country at developing tight ends, and if that trend continues with Jamari Johnson, it could be incredibly appealing to a recruit like Tytan McNeil. The Nation's top ranked tight end will be on campus this weekend, and stealing him out of the Huskies backyard would be a sweet added bonus.

Defensive line is going to be a priority for the Ducks after missing out on some of the top defensive tackle targets this past cycle. Dan Lanning will look to use his Georgia ties to land 3-star DT Tory Clark out of Atlanta

Lake Oswego native Presley DeLance and Portland Native PJ Tautu won't have to travel far to watch the in-state Oregon Ducks this weekend. In the 2027 cycle the Ducks have landed 4 in-state recruits, and if the staff is making the state a priority, the two top players in the state are going to be important to close on.
