Expensive talent buries poverty program as Ducks speed past OSU with three quick touchdowns

A kick out of bounds gave the Ducks field position to start, out to the 35. After a flat route to Jamari Johnson gained six, Noah Whittington burst inside off the hip of Alex Harkey for a 59-yard touchdown, the second time in two games that Whittington started the game with an explosive run.

After week one there were questions about the Ducks' run blocking efficiency; the meticulous analysts at Addicted to Quack assigned them an error rate of 26% against Montana State. Early on, it appears the UO running game may not yet be perfect, it has been lethal and effective.

The Cowboys went three and out, A'Mauri Washington getting penetration and batting down a pass on third and six.

After Gary Bryant secured a fair catch, Dante Moore rolled left and hit Dakorien Moore deep down the left sideline, Moore evading the defender and cruising into the end zone for a 65-yard score. Noah Whittington did a great job picking up a blitz inside, giving Dante time to set up.

Bryant handled another punt flawlessly, knowing that securing the ball is the most important part of a returner's job.

Whittington got blocks from Emmanuel Pregnon and Isaiah World to bust ahead for 12 and 11, the second off a key block from Kenyon Sadiq. A holding penalty on Jamari Johnson negated a nice gain by Jayden Limar on an outlet route.

Justius Lowe picked up 9 on a crossing route to set up 4th and 4 on the Cowboy 44. To paraphrase the immortal Vin Scully, fours are wild.

Gary Bryant Jr. was mugged on a flat route, but the officials let it go, turnover on downs. The Ducks led 14-0 with 8:29 to play in the first quarter.

Flores threads a pass between four defenders for a first down. Dillon Thieneman broke up a shot downfield. Flores, hit as he throws, has a pass knocked away by Jerry Mixon. Flores scrambles on third down but Uiagalelei cleans it up. OSU has to punt it away, touchback.

Noah Whittington is slam-dunk RB-1, starting the game with four carries for 91 yards. Jayden Limar runs around the right edge for 53.

Behind another block by Sadiq, Dierre Hill scrambled 19 yards for a touchdown on a reverse. Alex Harkey blocked his man all the way to the end zone., playing bully ball. The Ducks go for two, but it's negated by an illegal motion penalty, Sappington nailed the extra-long PAT, 20-0.

After a clean first game, the offense commits three penalties in the first ten minutes.
