Former Oregon star forward Dillon Brooks arrested outside of Phoenix

At 2 a.m. MT on Friday, March 6, former Oregon Ducks men's basketball player Dillon Brooks, who currently plays for the Phoenix Suns, was arrested for DUI in Scottsdale, AZ.

Just under an hour and a half later, Brooks was reportedly released from custody around 3:20 a.m., according to TMZ, which first broke the news of Brooks' arrest.

As of now, TMZ and other news outlets have yet to release more information about the incident, beyond sharing that Brooks was reportedly "respectful and cooperative before being released."

Brooks played for the Ducks from 2014 until 2017, and led Oregon to an appearance in the 2017 Final Four, where they lost by one point to the eventual National Champions, the UNC Tar Heels.

He was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year, a consensus second-team All-American, and first-team All-Pac-12 in 2017. One season earlier, Brooks was named he was also named a Pac-12 first-team player. As a freshman, he was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman team.

After his career in Eugene, Brooks was selected in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets before getting traded to the Memphis Grizzlies, where he spent his first six years in the league.

Brooks then spent two years playing for the Rockets before signing with the Suns in 2025 as part of Houston's trade for Kevin Durant. Currently, Brooks is sidelined with a fractured hand.

While still the dominant defender that he was while at Oregon, Brooks has assumed a relatively disliked position in the league, frequently painted as a villain and feuding with beloved stars like LeBron James.
