The Duck can appear at your wedding or reception or company event. The going rate is $1500 for an hour plus 52 cents a mile for travel expenses.

A standard personal appearance is $500 for 30 minutes. An Autzen Game Day appearance is $200 for 15 minutes.

Requests have to be made in writing, a month in advance. There's a form to fill out, and the goducks.com website specifies that the event has to align with the University values and must not conflict with existing sponsorship agreements.

Considerations have to made for safety and logistics. Media exposure and potential educational and community impact are evaluated before the request is approved.

Since The Duck is anonymous and voiceless, he can't officiate the wedding, and event organizers must provide a secure changing area.

Members of the Oregon cheerleading squad also make personal appearances, $500 for a 30-minute appearance, with the same guidelines.

The website says, "Funds received from appearance fees contribute to the overall expenses of the Oregon Cheerleading and Mascot program, such as travel and equipment."

With the new House Settlement revenue streams and marketing opportunities will become more important than ever. Schools will be challenged to protect the brand while maximizing revenue.

A program will be pressed to sell its Name, Image and Likeness. Jersey patches, stadium naming rights, ticket price increases and hard liquor sales-- it's all on the table and some places, lines will be crossed.

Oregon has a well thought-out-policy . They should, because The Duck is the most entertaining mascot in sports and one of the most recognized, with his own series of ESPN commercials and a knack for connecting with fans of all ages.

So it's possible to request the Duck for a 90th birthday party or a family reunion. He's irrepressible though, and there's no guarantee someone won't get a face-full of cake.

Just don't call him Puddles. That's not his name.
