Oregon's secondary did a superb job in the first half:
Ross: 2 catches for 6 yards
Pena: 1 catch for 4 yards
Hudson: No catches
Penn State opened the second half with a first down on a short pass and two runs, working the ball out to the 35.
Allar hit Kahlil Dinkins over the middle, a 16-yard completion past midfield. He scrambled for a first down, lumbering up the middle.
Inside the 40, but Tuioti pulled him down for a sack, -2. Boettcher knifed in to stop Singleton. Tuiti dove at Allar's feet, stopped at the line of scrimmage, forcing a pooch punt, into the end zone for a touchback.
The Ducks held, getting the ball back at the 20. Can Will Stein find something to get this attack going? It's 9:11 in the third quarter, still 3-3.
Limar gained 7 with a quick throw, but a false start by Sadiq erased it. Limar got five back, third and 3. Moore rolled right away from pressure and found Sadiq over the middle for 23 yards down to the 50.
After the play, Penn State edge rusher stayed down, needing attention from the trainers. After a commercial break he's okay.
On 2nd and 7, Hill cut left behind World and Sadiq for 24 yards, his second chunk run of the game. Inside for 6 more. A pitch to Daviosn gained only one.
Third and 3 in the Red Zone, a pass to Sadiq over the middle, inside the 10 but Whittington, straining for yardage, coughed up the ball, knocked out by Chaz Coleman and returned by Zakee Wheatley 49 yards to midfield.
Whittington's knee ruled down! No fumble! The Ducks keept the ball, second and goal from the 8. Dierre Hill took an inside screen for a touchdown, getting two blocks from Alex Harkey, another one by Dakorien Moore, 10-3 Oregon.
As Lanning predicted, the warriors have controlled their environment. The crowd is no longer than a Saturday afternoon game at Cal.
Allar pressured, misses on two passes. Three and out for PSU. Bryant secured the fair catch.
The Ducks took over at 2:22 at their 25. Hill gains 11 behind Davison, Harkey and Iuli. He popped another one for 9, pushed through behind Laloulu for the first down. Ball to the 48.
Moore scrambled for six as the quarter ends, reaching the PSU 46 where it will be third and four after the break.
