Friday night at Hard Rock Stadium Carson Beck and No. 2 Miami played their way out of the Heisman race and the national championship picture, falling to unranked Louisville 24-21 as Beck threw four interceptions.

On first and 10 with 34 seconds to play, in field goal range with a chance for a tie, last week's Heisman Trophy favorite tried a pass in the flat to sophomore tight end Elija Lofton, tipped at the line of scrimmage and intercepted by Cardinals linebacker T.J. Capers.

The loss snapped a 10-game winning streak for Miami, which no longer controls its destiny for the ACC title game. It continued a long string of annual losses to unranked teams by Cristobal, in what seems to be an annual event for the Hurricanes' coach.

One horrible night took Beck from the favorite in the Heisman race at +350 to a longshot at +4000. Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza and Crimson Tide quarterback Ty Simpson move into the favorite's role at +240.

2025 Heisman Odds, FanDuel:

Fernando Mendoza (Indiana) +240

Ty Simpson (Alabama) +240

Marcel Reed (Texas A&M) +1400

Julian Sayin (Ohio State) +1400

Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State) +1400

Gunner Stockton (Georgia) +2000

CJ Carr (Notre Dame) +2000

Dante Moore (Oregon) +2200

Trinidad Chambliss (Ole Miss) +2200

Devon Dampier (Utah) +2500

Haynes King (Georgia Tech) +2500

Jayden Maiava (USC) +2500

Carson Beck (Miami) +4000

Joey Aguilar (Tennessee) +4000

A week ago Dante Moore went from the favorite to a distant contender after an upset loss to Indiana in which he threw two interceptions and was sacked six times. It illustrates that college football this season is wide-open and unpredictable: there will continue to be upsets and huge shifts in both the national championship picture and Heisman contention.

At Minnesota, No. 25 Nebraska and Dylan Raiola fell 24-6 to unranked Minnesota Friday night. Games with Heisman and national championship implications today include No. 10 LSU at No. 17 Vanderbilt, No. 12 Georgia Tech at Duke, No. 5 Ole Miss at No. 9 Georgia, No. 11 Tennessee at No. 6 Alabama and No. 20 USC at No. 13 Notre Dame.

It's a slate sure to shake up both races.
